Exporting Australian Natural Skincare to Asia-Pacific Markets
How an Australian brand used Skincraftlab manufacturing to serve 4 APAC markets
James had a successful natural skincare brand in Australia but faced a wall when trying to expand into Asia — Chinese NMPA registration, ASEAN cosmetic directives, and Korean KFDA requirements each demanded different documentation and formulation adjustments.
Skincraftlab's multi-market compliance team mapped every requirement across James's target markets — China, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam — and identified which formulations could work across multiple markets with minor adjustments.
Rather than maintaining separate production facilities, James consolidated all manufacturing with Skincraftlab. Our vertically integrated factory handled everything from raw material sourcing to final packaging, reducing his per-unit costs by 35% compared to his previous Australian contract manufacturer.
The R&D team reformulated 3 products to meet Chinese NMPA standards without preservatives on the restricted list, while maintaining the 'Australian natural' positioning that was James's brand differentiator. Full CPSR and safety dossiers were prepared for each market.
Pure Coast Skincare now operates in 4 APAC markets with 8 SKUs, all manufactured by Skincraftlab. James's next expansion targets Japan and Taiwan.
