Foot mask manufacturing: six formats and what separates them
Foot care is one of the categories where our own listings give away the answer before we do: buyers order the warming and moisturising formats in tens of thousands of pairs, and order peeling masks in far smaller quantities with far more questions attached. Here is each format, with the real MOQ, lead time and product page behind it.
The six formats we run
Warming sock-type bootie
Sock format holding 30 g of essence with a warm-on-contact design. The format that actually moves in export: our warming foot mask listing has recorded 53,291 pairs sold at US$0.34–0.40 per pair on our Alibaba.com storefront.
Moisturising bootie (whitening / repair)
See-through sock bootie for dry, rough and cracked feet, sold in a retail pouch ready for your artwork. 22,700 pairs sold on our Alibaba.com listing at US$0.33–0.40 per pair.
Peeling / callus-removal
A different product with different claims: glycolic-acid and lavender peeling masks shed dead skin over days after wear. Do not blur this with the moisturising formats above — the claim set and the instruction panel are not interchangeable.
Long foot & leg mask
Extended sheet that covers toe to calf for dry cracked skin — popular where the retail promise is coverage rather than a single treatment.
Heel balm & callus sticks
Twist-up sticks for cracked heels: beeswax, urea, whipped beef tallow bases. Lowest unit cost in the range and the easiest to launch, because there is no sheet and no sachet fill line involved.
Paraffin, hot mask & gel socks
Salon-style formats: rose paraffin peeling masks, crystal-jelly pedicure hot masks, and reusable moisturising gel socks for the retail accessory shelf.
What you specify on a foot mask
- Essence weight per pair — 30 g is our warming specification; the fill weight is the first number that sets both the cost and the feel.
- Bootie geometry — pre-cut toes or closed toe, ankle or calf length, single or dual size.
- Warm design — whether the format is warm-on-contact or simply a warm-water soak. This is a design decision, not a formulation accident.
- Claim set — moisturising and repair versus peeling. The instruction panel and the claims follow from this choice, so make it before artwork.
- Retail packaging — single-pair sachet, multi-pair box, pouch with your artwork, or a salon-style tub for reusable items.
Verifying the plant before the packaging brief
The foot-care range runs on the same plant as the rest of the catalogue: 8 production lines, a Grade D cleanroom measured at 126,079 particles/m³ against a 3,520,000 limit, an in-house microbiology laboratory, and SGS-issued GMPC and ISO 22716 certificates whose certified scope names foot masks explicitly.
Buyer questions
Warming or peeling — which should a new brand launch first?▾
They are different products. Warming and moisturising booties are bought on comfort and repeat purchase, and the format is already proven in export: 53,291 pairs and 22,700 pairs sold on two of our listings. Peeling masks carry a stronger claim and a stronger instruction panel — if the claim is wrong, the reviews punish it. If you are launching one SKU, launch the moisturising or warming format and add a peeling SKU once the first one sells through.
What is the MOQ for a foot mask?▾
It depends on the format and the tooling: 400 pairs for one existing moisturising bootie specification, 2,000 pairs for the warming bootie specification, and 1,000 units per SKU as the standard catalog minimum across the rest of the range. MOQ does not change by destination market.
Can the bootie be a different size or shape?▾
Yes — pre-cut toe openings, ankle length versus calf length, and single-size versus dual-size are all normal changes to the same line. What changes with the drawing is the film consumption per pair, which is why a size change is quoted as a new price rather than assumed to be free.
How do foot masks ship?▾
Sea freight is the usual route for these formats, and our IMDG Code transport classification report for the foot mask specification is downloadable from our certifications page — the classification matters because a liquid-filled sachet is what carriers ask about. Goods load at Zhongshan Port or Guangzhou Port.
Tell us the format, the essence weight and your market — you will get the specification route, MOQ, lead time and the documentation list back, including the transport classification for the filled sachet.
