Acne patches and scar care: two product families that get treated as one

A hydrocolloid dot and a silicone scar sheet sit in the same aisle and are built on completely different lines — one is a converting job, the other a silicone fabrication. Below is what each format is, the pack counts buyers actually order, and the claim limits that decide whether a launch survives its first regulatory review.

Acne formats we run

Hydrocolloid acne patch

The volume format: a hydrocolloid dot that absorbs and protects. Our listing for this specification has recorded 16,376 pcs sold at US$0.27–0.34 per piece, and it is quoted on 24-pack or 36-pack cards as well as larger formats.

Salicylic acid hydrocolloid patch

Same carrier, active added. The difference is the claim set, so the ingredient list, the labelling and the instruction panel all change with it.

UV-sensitive patch

A patch reordered by consumers as part of a daily routine rather than by clinicians — the niche that grew fastest on marketplaces, and one where pack count decides the retail price more than the patch itself.

Anti-acne serum & cleansing pads

The leave-on and rinse-off sides of the same routine. Our anti-acne moisturising serum page is the one that carries most of our organic acne traffic, and the exfoliating pads are quoted as a separate SKU because the fill line differs.

Scar care formats we run

Silicone gel

The highest-minimum item in the range (3,000 units) because it is a tube fill rather than a sheet: 15 g and 30 g tubes, with the closure and the tube decoration driving the setup cost.

Silicone patch — sheet or roll

Fixed sheet (one of ours runs 3.5 × 12 cm) or a roll cut to length by the consumer. The roll conversion is a retail position as much as a product one, and the die-cut decision is what to quote first.

Silicone dressing sheet & tape

Dressings sized for larger areas and post-surgical use cases, plus tape-format removal patches. Same silicone logic, different geometry and pack configuration.

Transparent gel sheet

A clearer silicone sheet for visible areas — the iteration most brands ask for after their first opaque sheet, because wearability drives compliance and compliance drives reviews.

Scar cream

Cream format for buyers who prefer an application rather than a sheet. Quoted as a jar or tube fill, similar to the gel route.

The claim question comes first, not last

In this category the product is easy and the wording is hard. A patch worn on healing skin invites medical-sounding claims, and those claims are what regulators and marketplace compliance teams act on. We manufacture cosmetic acne and scar products: absorb, protect, soothe, moisturise, help the appearance of skin. Nothing that reads as treatment, cure or prevention. If your brand strategy needs a drug or device claim, that is a different project with a different documentation route, and we would rather tell you that at the brief stage than after your artwork is printed.

Buyer questions

What claims can we make on an acne or scar product?▾

Only what the product is and what its documentation supports. In most markets an acne patch or a silicone scar sheet sold as a cosmetic stays a cosmetic: it can claim to absorb, protect, soothe, moisturise or help the appearance of skin, but it cannot claim to treat, cure or prevent a condition, and it must not present itself as a medicine or a medical device. We manufacture to cosmetic claims and we will push back on wording we cannot support — the earlier a claim is settled, the cheaper it is to change, because claims sit in the artwork and the instruction panel.

What pack counts do buyers order?▾

For acne patches the card is the product: 24-pack and 36-pack cards are the usual configurations, with larger formats for refill positioning. For silicone sheets, the choice is between a fixed-size sheet and a roll the consumer cuts — the roll carries a higher price and a longer replacement cycle, and it is the format most often requested by buyers who already sell in the category.

What is the MOQ and lead time?▾

1,000 units per SKU across most of the range, 3,000 units for the silicone gel tube specification. Lead times run approx. 20 days after confirmation, with the hydrocolloid patch specifications quoting 45–60 days because of the card converting step. MOQ does not change by destination market.

How do we verify a factory for this category specifically?▾

Ask for the cleanroom classification and the microbiological testing regime rather than certificates alone: patches are worn on broken or healing skin, so production conditions matter more than for a wash-off product. Ours are published — a Grade D cleanroom measured at 126,079 particles/m³ against a 3,520,000 limit, an in-house microbiology laboratory, and GMPC, ISO 22716 and FDA facility registration certificate numbers that can be checked with the issuing bodies.

Send the format, the pack count and your market — you will get the specification route, MOQ, lead time and a straight answer on which claims the documentation will support.
