Collagen jelly cream: one texture family, five ways to sell it

A jelly cream is not a formula — it is a texture target that the formula has to hit. That distinction decides what can be carried in it, which pack it can go into, and what has to be settled at sampling. Here is how the five formats in this family differ, and what a brand has to decide before a quote is worth anything.

Real formats from our catalogue

Published products from our own line — the same five textures described below. Sample or full production, MOQ from 1,000 units.

Five formats in this family

Panthenol + collagen jelly face cream

The format most often asked for by name: a firm, translucent jelly cream that holds shape in the jar and breaks down on contact with the skin. Panthenol carries the barrier and soothing story, hydrolysed collagen the texture and the name. This is the composition our Alibaba.com storefront lists under the same name — buyers can open the listing and check it.

Panthenol Collagen Jelly Face Cream →

Niacinamide + resveratrol collagen jelly cream

A brighter-positioned variant of the same base: niacinamide and resveratrol in a jelly-cream vehicle. The texture is unchanged; the actives and their concentrations are the specification that moves at sampling.

Niacinamide Hydrating Collagen Face Cream →

Jelly-format lip mask

The same jelly logic at a much smaller unit: a hydrogel jelly lip mask, frequently paired with gold flake for the premium shelf. Different mould, different wear time, same production conditions.

24K Gold Collagen Lip Mask — Korean Jelly Hydrogel →

Jelly sheet mask (hydrogel carrier)

Where the jelly texture meets a sheet format: a hydrogel sheet holding a collagen serum, chosen when a brand wants the jelly story but a single-use consumable rather than a jar.

Jelly Face Sheet Hydrogel Care Mask →

Jelly gel (light, pump or tube)

The thinnest end of the family: a translucent jelly gel for pump, tube or airless. Selected when the brief asks for a lighter skin feel than a cream but wants to stay inside the jelly vocabulary.

What you specify

  • Texture firmness — from a self-supporting jelly in a jar to a dispenseable gel in an airless pump. This single decision constrains everything after it.
  • Actives and load — collagen, panthenol, niacinamide, vitamin C derivatives, PDRN or botanicals, at the concentration your positioning needs.
  • Pack — wide-mouth jar, airless pump, tube or sachet; the pack and the viscosity target are one decision, not two.
  • Fill weight — 15 g through 100 g changes both the unit cost and how the product reads on shelf.
  • Claim set — cosmetic wording only; the jelly texture supports a sensory story, and efficacy wording is a separate compliance question.
  • Fragrance and colour — and whether the translucent look is part of the brand identity, because that constrains the colour system.

Production and documentation

Jelly creams run on the same cream and lotion units as any other emulsion — which is why the certificate scope matters here more than the marketing name. Our SGS-issued ISO 22716 certificate (CN19/31476) and our US FDA CFSAN cosmetic GMP certificate (CN19/31477) both name cream and lotion units, and our NMPA cosmetics production licence 粤妆20160335 covers the production conditions for the skincare range. The plant runs 8 production lines in a 3,886 m² GMPC cleanroom, and every certificate number is published so a buyer can check it against the issuing body.

Buyer questions

What is a jelly cream, and is it a different process from a normal cream?▾

A jelly cream is a cream that is built for a translucent, self-supporting texture rather than an opaque emulsion. The equipment is the same vacuum homogenising line used for lotions and creams; what changes is the gelling system, the oil phase ratio and the filling temperature. Our SGS-issued certificates name the cream and lotion production units explicitly, which is the line this format runs on.

What is the MOQ and lead time for a collagen jelly cream?▾

1,000 units per SKU is the standard catalog minimum, 500 units per SKU for a private-label run, and 3,000+ units where the formula is developed for you. Samples take 3–7 days, and standard production runs approx. 20 days after confirmation. ODM projects and full custom formulation sit on longer schedules, because the stability work is additional.

Jar, airless or tube — how does packaging change the project?▾

The texture sets the constraint. A firm jelly holds its shape in a wide-mouth jar and reads as a treatment product; the same formula in an airless pump needs a lower viscosity so it can be dispensed. Changing the pack is therefore a re-spec, not a swap: it moves the viscosity target, the fill temperature and the unit cost together. Tell us the channel and we will quote the pack that fits the texture you asked for.

Which actives can be carried in a jelly cream?▾

Collagen (hydrolysed, or as the name carrier), panthenol, niacinamide, vitamin C derivatives, retinol alternatives, PDRN and botanical extracts are all workable in this vehicle. What decides feasibility is not the ingredient list but the concentration, the pH and whether the texture still holds at that load — which is what the sample stage settles. We will tell you if a requested level cannot hold the jelly texture instead of quoting it and finding out later.

Send the texture you have in mind, the pack you want it in and the channel you are selling through — you will get the formulation route, the pack recommendation, MOQ, lead time and the documentation list back.
